Volunteering at St. Basil's Homes

Lend a Helping Hand

Do you think you could offer some of your time to the elderly at St. Basil's Homes as a Volunteer? You can join the people of every age who already do.

St. Basil's Homes is named after St. Basil the Great, Bishop of Caesurae 329-379. He set up the first ever aged care facilities such a long time ago as part of the loving work of the Church. In the 21st Century, St. Basil's Homes is an organisation conducted under the auspices of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.

You will enjoy working with us here. We take pride in creating a happy atmosphere for residents, families, visitors and staff.

As a Volunteer you will become part of a caring team, committed to the delivery of the highest standard of services and care.

  • As a volunteer, you can work in any of the following ways:
  • Assisting residents in leisure activities
  • Escorting residents to Doctor's appointments
  • Reading out aloud

  • Companionship, friendship visits
  • Assisting with letter writing
  • Mending residents clothes
  • Labelling residents clothes
